Battle Creek is situated 70 miles east of Lake Michigan at the confluence of the Kalamazoo and Battle Creek rivers. Richly endowed with lakes, rivers, streams, hills and farms, the terrain is characterized by vegetation and forests. Although Battle Creek experiences the four seasons, the climate is moderated by the “lake effect.” Prevailing westerly winds crossing Lake Michigan warm the winter and cool the summer.

The Kellogg Company World headquarters, McCamly Plaza Hotel and the W.K. Kellogg Foundation world headquarters and Kellogg Cereal City USA museum occupy the shore of the meandering Kalamazoo River. A Linear Park stretches several miles along the river and connecting open green space throughout the community.

More than 750,000 spectators come to Battle Creek every summer for the International Hot Air Balloon Champions. The City’s Binder Park Golf Course is consistently rated one of the best municipal golf courses in the state and was recently expended to 27 holes. The City is also home to the Battle Creek Symphony Orchestra - nation’s ninth oldest and one of the best – numerous auditoriums, a civic theatre, a civic art center and professional summer stock theatre.
