Authorization: Resolution No. 528, approved December 8,
1987, authorizing the City Manager to establish a
private non-profit organization to administer,
coordinate and promote the use of cable television public
access, channels, and facilities in the City of Battle
Creek.
Appointing Authority: Local government entities
including City of Battle Creek, City of Springfield, Emmett
and Newtown Townships make their own appointments to Board
of Directors. TCI Cablevision, ex-officio member, appoints
one of their employees as a non-voting member. The
AccessVision Board of Directors appoints at-large members
from within the boundaries of the local government entities
listed above.
Purpose: See Authorization above.
Members: Two (2) from
City of Battle Creek and one (1) from each of the other
entities named above. (One representative for each 1,000
cable subscribers.) Board will be enlarged as other
municipalities participate, each municipality appointing
one representative per each 4,000 (or part thereof) of its
cable subscribers.
Terms:
Staggered, for three years for all board members with the
maximum time a person could serve being three terms or nine
years.
Compensation: None.
