Battle Creek Housing Board of Appeals
Authorization
City Ordinance #1-94, adopted on January 18, 1994, amended Chapter 1464, Housing
Board of Appeals, in order to comply with amendments to the Michigan Housing
Law, namely, Act 167 of the Public Acts of 1917. EFFECTIVE FEBRUARY 1, 1994, by
Resolution No. 100, approved that date.
Appointing Authority
Mayor with majority vote of City Commission.
Purpose
Hearing
and deciding appeals concerning the application or interpretation of the
provisions and standards of the Housing Code.
Members
The Board shall consist of five members, as follows:
- A building contractor, a registered architect
or engineer
- Two members of the general public
- An individual registered as a building
official, plan reviewer or inspector (pursuant to Act 54 of the Public Acts
of 1986/Building Officials and Inspectors Registration Act) and may be an
employee of the City of Battle Creek.
