"I believe in a limited City government that
provides essential services in an efficient and effective
manner. This allows for lower taxes, which spurs
economic growth, creates jobs, and increases prosperity for
our citizens and businesses. I am also a strong
proponent of protecting our environment. As chairman
of the City’s Environmental Policy Committee, I have led the
move to increase recycling opportunities in Battle Creek and
save resources with commonsense "green" ideas.

“As a
Battle Creek native, I am deeply rooted in seeing that it
succeeds. Working together, we can ensure all residents,
especially our youth, have a voice and a seat at the table
of city government, building relationships as we go. I will
strive to be informed on the issues, mindful and responsible
with our resources, engaged at the grassroots level,
responsive to the concerns brought before me, and to always
remember to give thanks for the opportunity to serve you on
the City Commission.”

I believe in a city government that
efficiently provides the services needed to make Battle
Creek grow by doing MORE FOR LESS with each dollar the city
spends. We can lower taxes and create an environment where
businesses thrive and create jobs. We can find ways to
encourage people who work in Battle Creek to live in the
city by creating a city where people want to work, live, and
raise their children."

"I believe that balancing every
aspect of city government is the key to our success. We must
manage everything entrusted to us and balance economic
development, lower taxes, and improving neighborhoods with
job creation, youth retention, a healthy tax base, an
aesthetically pleasing atmosphere, attractive parks, etc. If
part of the management system is out of balance, the entire
community suffers."
