Battle Creek Transit Notice of FY 2010 Grant Application
American Recovery & Reinvestment Act of 2009
Draft Program of Projects

Pursuant to Section 9 ( f ) of the Surface Transportation Act of 1990, Battle Creek Transit hereby gives notice of its intention to apply for financial assistance from the Federal Transit Administration ( FTA ). Battle Creek Transit is submitting an application for ARRA ( " stimulus " ) funding in the amount of $318,889. These funds would be used to construct a new bus transfer facility to replace the existing facility that is adjacent to Full Blast on Hamblin Avenue in Downtown Battle Creek.

Battle Creek Transit encourages and welcomes any comments or questions from area residents regarding the proposed use of Federal funds to support this project. Effective December 1, 2009, a thirty ( 30 ) day comment period will be provided to receive any oral or written comments pertaining to this project. This Program of Projects ( POP ) and copy of the grant application may be viewed at Battle Creek Transit’s offices, located at 339 West Michigan Avenue, Battle Creek, MI during weekdays, between the hours of 8am – 5pm. It is also posted on Battle Creek Transit’s website – battlecreektransit.com. If sufficient interest is indicated, a public hearing may be scheduled to receive additional input on this project. If no significant comments are received during the thirty ( 30 ) day period that would change the scope of this project, the draft program of projects will automatically become the final program of projects that will be considered by the Federal Transit Administration. Please contact Jerry Hutchison, Transit Manager, at 269-966-3477 or at jphutchison @ci.battle-creek.mi.us if you have any questions regarding this project.
